Outreach support available

In the past, I have worked in School Improvement, Subject Leader Development and the training of NQT’s and RQT’s through the LA. I am also fluent with the growth mindset and resilience training that partners the Learning Journey approach to teaching.

I believe it is a teacher’s job to be inspirational and that all good practice is based upon an ability to form excellent relationships with young children. I’m now in my 40s and I have children of my own and experience across the primary age range at 3 different and contrasting schools. I believe that, with the right support and balance, every teacher can achieve excellent teaching and learning practice that will inspire children to pursue a career that they will love doing in the future. It is a primary teacher’s job to help children to begin their important, personalised journey by instilling a sound core knowledge combined with all the key elements of building a ‘whole person’. Our roles should not be stressful, if they are – we are doing something wrong.

Relevant experience in specialism

I have always been involved in curricular development and I am an experienced Literacy, Art and PHSE leader within schools. I have taken part in writing three whole school personalised curriculum approaches and a variety of subject led enhancements. I have promoted the cross curricular ‘Learning Journey’ approach through a number of schools external to my own and this has had a huge impact on teaching and learning in those areas.
